While its not yet fully release, a daily snapshot can already be obtained and the day of writing this we also downloaded the latest (server) version.

Let’s start up our machine, which has the daily build ISO, one of the first screens we see is very familiar, and we can hit enter to continue.
After this, some loading will happen, that will end in this screen
We selected English and moved to the next screen (hit enter)
This screen is also pretty simple and we can just hit enter in our case.
Here we also are good with the default setting, we will worry about a minimized server another time.
The next one is another enter, as we have no need to be behind a proxy.
After this, we see a screen that will perform a test on the mirror, and it will read the package list from the mirror
The next two screens is going to allow us to configure our hard drive, and its partitions
We chose to leave our defaults and move on, hitting Done on that page shows a warning
Which, after choosing Continue we get to the screen that will allow us to setup a local user account.
Filling this out, and moving to the next screen gives us the option to (optionally) enable Ubuntu Pro. This is not selected by default and at this time we moved on right away
Next up, SSH configuration, we choose the Install OpenSSH Server option, but we don’t import any keys, but this is something you can do of course.
Next we get to choose from a list of packages to install, that you already know you will want. At this time we skipped any selections.
And we are off to the races!
About 1 minute in, already yes, the Reboot Now option already became available, and we decided to “click” it…
BUT! 🙂 It did not work. We actually turned off the machine, disconnected the ISO and started the machine again…
And after trying to login…
We have a running server, so that was much quicker then what we remember from 22.04, so that is already a great improvement. This really only took a minute, if even that, just depending on how fast you can type your own information really …. 😉
